OCOBIA has submitted a formal letter of support to the City of Ottawa’s Finance and Corporate Services Committee in favour of the proposed boundary expansion of the Preston Street BIA (Agenda Item 7.7).
The Preston Street BIA is one of Ottawa’s strongest examples of BIA impact — having helped establish Preston Street and Little Italy as a premier destination district through initiatives like the Ottawa Italian Festival, public art and murals, the gateway feature, and ongoing public realm improvements. The proposed expansion will bring additional adjacent businesses into a successful and collaborative district, creating greater cohesion and shared benefit across the area.
In her letter, OCOBIA Chief Advocate Michelle Groulx fully endorsed the proposed expansion and respectfully encouraged Committee and Council to approve the boundary adjustment.
