My Main Street Completion Celebration

Ottawa BIAs, Mayor Sutcliffe, Honourable Filomena Tassi, MP Yasir Naqvi, MP Jenna Sudds, Councillor Rawlson King, businesses and staff celebrated the successful completion of My Main Street Local Business Accelerator Program in Ottawa!

50 small businesses in the city of Ottawa have received non-repayable investments to a total of $500,000 through the My Main Street Local Business Accelerator.

Five Ottawa BIAs participated in the program: Sparks Street BIA, ZAC Vanier BIA, Bank Street BIA, Somerset Chinatown BIA, and Preston Street BIA.

Each BIA had their own My Main Street Ambassador to connect with small businesses one-on-one, and support them on receiving market research reports and applying for the non-repayable funds – up to $10,000 per business.

The My Main Street Local Business Accelerator program has been supporting the revitalization of 65 main street communities across southern Ontario. Overall, $6.5 million was budgeted to be received by 650 small local businesses.

The program is delivered by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario with a Government of Canada investment through Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) to support the recovery and strength of main streets and local businesses in southern Ontario.
