The Centretown BIA is preparing for a significant boundary expansion that could bring 300 additional businesses into its membership by early 2026.
Executive Director SabriNa Lemay says the move is part of the BIA’s ongoing revitalization plan, which aims to better support businesses across Centretown through marketing, beautification, and advocacy. The proposed expansion would extend west to Bronson Avenue and east to Elgin Street, while maintaining the existing north and south boundaries (Queen Street to Catherine Street/Highway 417).
“These other businesses, residents and property owners are already so much a part of the vibrancy of this area,” said Lemay. “We’re better together.”
The BIA has already launched several revitalization initiatives, including Uncommon, a new event space at Snider Plaza, and Street Seats activations on Florence, McLaren and Frank streets. Board Chair Michael Wallack called the expansion “an opportunity to unite more of our neighbourhood’s diverse businesses under one collective voice.”
