City of Ottawa Relaunches “Shop Local. Buy Canadian.” Campaign

BIA News, News & Updates

In response to expanded U.S. tariffs, the City of Ottawa’s Economic Development Services has relaunched its “Shop Local. Buy Canadian.” awareness campaign — first introduced in spring 2025 and now back in-market for an eight-week run. The campaign reminds residents and businesses across Ottawa to support local whenever possible — sourcing and buying from local entrepreneurs, producers, and Canadian-made suppliers. The City has also updated its Tariff Toolkit and added a new “Trade” tab to the Economic Development Dashboard. BIAs across the city are encouraged to amplify the message through storefront signage, newsletters, and social channels.
